Having recently set up Net Zero Support Services Ltd, Mike's most recent experience comes from his 22 years in the NHS where he developed and managed multiple projects during that time.
The most notable was the decarbonisation of North Tyneside General hospital which was a £22M desteam and decarbonisation project and involved the replacement of a steam heat network, replacing this with 2 stage heat pumps, new LTHW heat netwrok and associated equipment, double glazing, cavity wall insulation, LV/HV electrical infrastructuor
Recycling Savings into Further Savings
Continual Reinvestment Pays Dividends
A recycling fund was set up to invest into energy/carbon reductions. The annual savings were reinvested into new projects each year for a ten year period. The compound annual growth rate was 30.16%, the total carbon emissions saved was over 7,500tCO2e and the reduction in final year for energy costs was circa £2M.
